Update:

Employee of the Quarter

Do you know

a colleague that goes above and beyond normal job expec-

tations? Does this employee use their skills, professionalism, customer

service and teamwork to make a difference in the work environment?

Starting in February, nomination forms will be available throughout the

hospital and on the intranet homepage. We will also be renaming this rec-

ognition program and would like to hear some of your ideas! If you have

a name that you feel exemplifies the spirit and values of Los Robles,

please send directly to

There are many exciting updates that we would like you all to be

aware of. First and foremost, our

NICU

moved “back home” on

Thursday, January 22nd. Our

Pediatrics Department

will also

be relocated in the near future – A date will be determined and

announced in an upcoming Friday message. Our

C-Section

Recovery Room

renovation is scheduled to commence at the end

of this month. In addition, our

PICU

is still awaiting OSHPD occu-

pancy approval; we are excited about this addition and look forward

to sharing further details with you in the near future.

In other news, we will begin the flooring removal process on the 1st

floor of Tower #2 near the Pharmacy on Saturday, January 24th. Our

Administration

and

Surgery

area will continue renovation with a

forecasted occupancy of mid-March, and our

Infusion Room

reno-

vation continues with a projected completion date of April 6th.

This year we will begin to honor our nurses through the DAISY Award

program. This award recognizes those nurses who consistently demon-

strate excellence through their clinical expertise, extraordinary compas-

sionate care, and as an outstanding role model in nursing.

The DAISY Award was established in 1999 by the family of Patrick

Barnes who died of complications of the auto-immune disease Idiopathic

Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP) at the age of 33. DAISY is an acronym

for

D

A

ttacking the

S

ystem. During his hospitalization

the family was very impressed by the care and compassion shown by the

nurses. The family developed a foundation in Patrick’s memory to recog-

nize nurses across the country that have made an enormous difference in

the lives of their patients. We are proud to be a partner of this program.

Applications will be available throughout the hospital and on the intranet

starting in February.
